I’m so thankful for my years as an artist. It introduced me to some of my best friends. I have been able to work on amazing projects that are still bringing joy to people who play the games or color my coloring books or stories. Without art, I would not have had the opportunity to meet many interesting people, including celebrities, or travel the world.
I am so grateful that I was able to pursue my dreams in my youth. They were some of the best years of my life.
While attending the Art Institute of Atlanta, getting her Computer Animation degree, Lindsay Archer was on the Dean’s List and a member of the Circle of Excellence. At the same time, she was also illustrating her first Role Playing Game, Legendmaker. Its promotion took her to her first Dragon Con in 1998, and opened up a whole new world.
After graduation Lindsay attended Larry Elmore’s first art camp in Kentucky. Soon she was illustrating for Margaret Weis Productions / Sovereign Press where she worked on the Serenity RPG, Battlestar Galactica RPG, Dragonlance RPG, Maiden’s Quest by WizKids, and coloring books for the UK publication, Colouring Heaven.
Sadly, Lindsay had to abandon her art career after several major life disruptions. She suffers from C-PTSD and was attacked while painting, making it a complicated career path that got even more complicated. Having a heart for other survivors of trauma and abuse, she does what she can to advocate for victims, educate people on healthy relationships, and speak out against Domestic Violence.
She continues creating art and selling it, more as a hobby than a profession, while pursuing ways to more adequately provide for her family.
“The secret to Art is Love” - Antoine Bourdelle
Successful Illustrator and Artist in gaming and illustration industry for 13 years, Lindsay Archer studied under the renowned Larry Elmore, considered by many to be the premier illustrator in the industry.
Proficient in many classical mediums for the creation of art, Lindsay’s skills range from classical oil paints to sculpting in still art forms, but majored in computer animation. One of her professors saw her talent for hand animation, and for a time she interned at an animation studio that produced work for Cartoon Network. Some of her animations can still be seen to this day. Today she mostly applies that to CAD design, but did work within the film industry in multiple capacities. Lindsay worked with Double Raven Studios as a storyboard artist, as well as a concept artist. On one project she also contributed with story and character development. At one point she was working on a web series based on her story concepts, but it sadly fell through, but served as a very educational experienced in film production and the industry.

Outside of work experience, Lindsay is trained in multiple martial arts, and taught self defense to deaf girls on the island of Bohol in the Philippines, as they are exceptionally vulnerable. Her uncle started the International Deaf Education Association, where Lindsay volunteered in 1996. Her skills in martial arts extended to the blade as well, competing with foil, saber, and epee. Though she was a rated fencer in college, she is best known for changing the rules of fencing by doing a backflip into a split to get a hit.
With animals, she volunteered at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, cleaning cages, feeding animals, and helping present the animals for the show with the help of their zookeeper. It amuses her to be able to put on her resumé that she once caught a lemur. As a teen she amazed many a person who came to the house, when she taught their chow (a breed thought to be difficult to train) how to close the door. She has a deep love for animals, but most especially horses, which she has a knack for working with some of the most difficult and abused ones to build trust. This affinity for horses and watching how being around horses is therapeutic, encouraged her to pursue her certification as an Equine Specialist in EAGALA Equine Therapy. Introducing people scared of horses to the intuitive nature of these gentle giants is especially rewarding to watch bonds form. As a teen, when she got her own horse after saving up since she was a small child, she swore that if anyone ever asked to ride her horse that she would say yes, because she knew how much that would have meant to her as a child. Blessed with an angel of a Tennessee Walker, Lindsay kept that promise and gave many a child a rare opportunity. Her horse Destiny, followed Lindsay regardless of what the unskilled rider might be doing, and the smiles were always worth the time.
Over the years, Lindsay has also shared her artistic skills with others, including teaching at a local college. She has had private art students of different age groups. This includes helping high school seniors do their community senior projects, 8-10 year olds, and groups of adults. At Char Con, she taught a large hall how to draw dragons, as well as doing the cover for the program that year.
Lindsay has a variety of skills in many different areas and is not afraid of hard work or getting her hands dirty even when it comes to mucking stalls, 3D laser scanning cement factories, 3D CAD Design, or covered in paint. In 2011 she organized the Midsummer Night’s Eve Festival and now is working with Weekends of Whimsy to bring the Georgia Fantasy Festival to life. She is always ready to add a little magic back into the world in whatever form that may be.
