Description
Caught by magic and held by mystical chains, this extraordinary animal is kept from reaching its full potential, bound by the cruelty of others who wish to possess its charms and powers or crush them so no one else may benefit from them. Longing for the heights for which it was born to achieve, this winged unicorn strains to escape an undeserved, cruel fate.
This image was drawn at Gen Con 2007 while I was quite worried about my horse, who I was afraid we were going to have to put down. Her name is Destiny, and her life and mine have been linked in ways. My concern for her welfare, despite having to work a convention, carried over into my art.
