One if by Sea
A mermaid waits near the wreckage of a ship. She has retrieved a remnant, this lantern, which she now lights as a signal to her love who lives upon the shore. The other humans would not understand, or would be frightened, if they knew that he loved such an unusual creature. To keep their love secret, they use this lantern to arrange their meetings, so he can come to her without fear.
